Behind the Photo

I captured this photo on the island of Koh Pha-ngan, Thailand — a spot I returned to  multiple times in the two weeks I spent there because the sunsets were that incredible. On this particular evening, I was sitting barefoot in the sand with a Chang beer that was quickly turning warm when I noticed this couple far out in the water. Despite the distance, the water was knee-deep for what felt like miles allowing them to walk slowly across the glowing shallows, silhouetted against the golden sky. I had to snap a photo.
