GUATEMALA

These photos were shot during a 17-day backpacking trip in January of 2025. I went to hike the famous Volcán Acatenago for an up-close and personal view of Volcán Fuego, known for it’s frequent eruptions. Although we didn’t see an eruption, the volcano still had a red glow and a constant plume, proving to be one of the most beautiful sunsets I’d ever seen. The remainder of my time I spent exploring Guatemala City, Flores, Chichicastenango, the Mayan ruins in Tikal, and numerous towns surrounding Lake Atitlán. The church I visited in “Chichi” acted as an all encompassing place of worship as many observed and practiced Mayan traditions.
